Biography
David Benavidez was born on December 17, 1996, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Mexican immigrant parents. Trained from childhood by his father José Benavidez Sr., he turned professional at 16 and became the youngest WBC super middleweight champion in history at age 20. After a brief title strip due to a failed drug test, he recaptured the WBC belt and defended it multiple times before moving up to light heavyweight. Benavidez is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous punchers in boxing — his combination of size, speed, and relentless pressure makes him a nightmare matchup for any opponent.
